Off-road forklift truck is a kind of engineering vehicle that can safely and highly load, unload, stack and carry out the operation on the slope and uneven ground. Like the balance forklift truck, it can be equipped with a cargo fork or replace a variety of accessories to achieve high working efficiency.
Structural features:
(1) With good possibility and off-road all-wheel drive. There is no differential between the axles, the use of large-diameter wide-base off-road tires, the minimum ground clearance of the vehicle is more than 300mm, and the departure Angle is more than 30°.
(2) Adopt articulated frame. The swing Angle of the frame is generally ±30°~40°, the steering system is simple, and there is no need to use expensive steering transaxle, which can achieve a small turning radius, manipulate the steering wheel, and make the frame swing horizontally, so that the fork is easy to align the material.
(3) all-wheel brake. In addition to the expansion shoe brake structure of small tonnage forklifts, most of them are clamp disc brakes, and large tonnage forklifts also use wet brakes. Parking brake is the most common independent hand brake.
(4) There is a large wheelbase and wheel base. Increase the lateral and longitudinal stability of the forklift.
(5) Good mobility. The maximum speed is generally 30km/h. The driving acceleration is good, and the climbing ability is 25°~30°.
(6) Large gantry Angle. This is necessary for safe operation and driving on uneven ground, generally 10° to 15° in front, and 15° in back.
(7) Setting of driver seat. In order to ensure that the operator has a better view of the loading operation, the driver's seat is generally arranged forward. For articulated forklift trucks, according to different operation requirements, the roof guard frame cab with FOPS/ROPS is installed.
Off-road forklifts are mainly used in urban construction sites, pipeline laying, oil field development, mountain forest and other field projects, as well as the loading and unloading of containers in the dock.
